I have an i3 laptop with 4gb ram. The cpu is very hot and the bottom burns my skin. As a result of the heat the fan is very loud. Using a temp monitor I am seeing temps of 105-115 and it occasionally shuts down. Any ideas to keep the cpu cooler? Before anyone asks, I am using a cooling pad or on my lap with the vents hanging over the side. Never on a bed or covering the vents. Thanks in advance, Jake.

I got the same issue. Is it charging or under load?

Sounds like you need to reapply the thermal compound and dust her out.

Already done.

RMA it if it's still under warranty that is not normal. If you can't RMA it anymore then well I'm sad to tell you that but you will probably need to underclock her.

Well out of warranty.

No.

Well, if you already have a cooling bad as well as have applied new thermal compound, seems like it's out of your control.

^This. DXDiag should also show the OEM and model

Have you tried changing the fan out? Maybe the fan is dying.

No but the fan seems to work fine.

What makes you think this?

It works fine for a time and keeps things cool until something happens and then it goes to full speed and the cpu gets hot/
