So, I have a Sapphire pulse 7900 XTX, but I’m having an issue. When I try to have both HDMI ports plugged in, one to my monitor and one to my TV, I get no display on either panel, if I run one HDMI port and one DisplayPort then I get a display on both panels. I have tested each port individually and they all work, I just can’t run two HDMI at the same time, any thoughts?

Still something to be sorted in the future as you may need both HDMIs, but...is it an issue to run the 2 different ports? If you get a display with one DP and one HDMI then issue, temporarily at least, solved?

As above, but don't you use DP to your monitor anyway?

They might have an older monitor that has HDMI but no DP.

But even in this situation, a DP-HDMI adapter might be the easiest, arguably cheapest, fix.

You comfortable with that assumption, given...

Samsung 990 Pro

7900XTX

I would assume he has a monitor younger than 10 years old with a DP port that should be used, negating his issue entirely.

Yes I definitely could, it’s just me wanting things to work as intended and to have all ports function properly.

Oh I'm very much aware it was unlikely 😅

But I have coworkers who have borrowed old monitors from the office (the kind that still have a DVI/VGA port alongside the HDMI) until they were able to afford a better one with modern connectivity after their rig upgrade. So it was not out of the realm of possibilities he upgraded the rest of the rig beforehand too.

DP is the standard for monitor-PC connections usually. HDMI is often just an additional if you dont have any DP ports or want to hook something else up like say, a firestick to a monitor. But some monitors wont even run at their full refresh rate without DP
