After watching the latest LTT video, it wasn't hard to notice that all the controllers had the Xbox layout. Is there a specific reason for this?

Reading through the video post some people have mentioned that Sony won't allow third parties to licence their controller layout, is this correct?

I don't have a preference between Xbox and Playstation controllers but I have used a Playstation controller a lot more and it would be great to be able to use a third party controller with Hall effect joysticks, a decent battery and adjustable joystick tension with my PS5. I assume I can use a third party controller with my PS5 but it will have to be plugged in or can I use one with bluetooth?

At least with 8BitDo stuff, you can remap the buttons to anything you like and some games can show Xbox or PS icons on screen. As for what's printed on the controller itself, i couldn't tell you. However, that hardly matters unless you're so new that you have to look at the controller to know what to press.

It seems mostly to be a non-issue BUT i'm also more familiar with Xbox buttons so maybe I just don't think about it as much as someone who's more familiar with PS.
