Soundbar Recommendations

First gen model in the living room sounds great!

Then you'll really like the Gen2 because it's quite a bit better 🙂

I honestly don't have much experience with the other cheaper soundbars because I personally think the design of the Sonos Beam is a huge selling point.

But I've definitely never heard any soundbars that impress me that cost less than the Beam.

I’m looking for a quick easy audio solution for use with the tv I have in my bedroom. I don’t want to mess around with a full audio setup, just looking for a simple bar to sit in front of the tv and hopefully not require another remote.

I’m looking at the Sonos Beam gen 2 because my roommates use one for the den tv and it seems to work fine. That said, I don’t know much about other alternatives so I figured I’d ask here to see if there are cheaper equivalents or better options for the price (around $450ish I think)

Thank you!

Are you unhappy with the sound quality?

I "downgraded" from my audiophile 2.0 bookshelf speaker setup ($1200/pair) to the Sonos Beam gen 2 because I was in love with the minimalist design and the fact that everything still sounded pretty great.

Their "Ray" and "Arc" soundbars are where I think you're getting a really bad $-to-performance ratio.

You can also just just grab the Beam Gen 2 for $399 from their refurbished site (20% off MSRP). I've purchased about 6 refurbished speakers from them and they always look brand new.

They also have an eBay storefront for the 20%-off stuff.

Oh I’m not unhappy with the sound quality at all (unless you’re referring to my tv’s builtin speakers). First gen model in the living room sounds great!

I just wanted to know if there was an obviously better alternative at the price point
