In pretty much any game (besides league of legends) my CPU runs anywhere between 78-85c and sometimes getting to the low to mid 90s for short periods. It idles at around 40c Also, my pc has been noticeably louder when playing an intensive game (witcher 3, cyberpunk, black ops 6, etc.). My GPU runs at around 80 in game, which I believe isn't an issue. Also, I don't really see a loss in performance since I noticed this happening, the only reason I checked is because of my fans being louder sometimes.

My old AIO died a while ago, and im not sure what the temps were with it, but it was just a bad cyberpower 120 AIO. I now have a coolmaster masterliquid 120.

I tried reapplying thermal paste, there was no difference.

I tried deep cleaning my pc, there was a barely noticeable difference.

I have default cyberpower fans and I do have a coolermaster fan sitting around. However, the fans are hooked up weird in the back, I believe its a molex adapter, and im scared to mess with it.

I'm not really sure what's wrong or what I need to do at this point.

You don't mention what CPU  you have.

Full spec list please 🙂

CPU: I9 9900kf

GPU: 2080 super

Motherboard: Asus Prime Z390-P ATX

RAM: 64gig ddr4 corsair vengeance 3600

The 9900k/kf is a very hot CPU and a cheap 120mm AIO will struggle keeping this cool during heavy use.

78-85c is alright but mid 90's is a bit too hot.

I managed to keep my 9900k somewhat cool at 5.1ghz overclock with a NH-D15 but I did try with a masterliquid ml240l that I got for free with the CPU and it was quite poor.

I suggest upgrading your cooler to a Peerless Assassin SE120. You should see some better temperatures over a 120mm AIO.

Thank you, that is very helpful. I use my computer to work, which does require some heavy load. Unfortunately that cooler isn't available with prime delivery. I found the Cooler Master Hyper H412R is available with prime delivery. Is this also a good option? Or do you still recommend a Peerless Assassin SE120. I also dont mind paying out 130+ for a 240mm AIO, if it would perform even better than the se120. Or I could even go with the NH D15, even though its quite a bit more expensive.

120mm AIO's are barely any better than a simple one tower cooler.
Get a peerless assassin or whichever 2 tower cooler you can fit in your case, should be enough to cool it down.

As for if you want to stick with the current AIO, first make sure it's actually working properly, and if there's any weird noises when it's running.
You can also just stress test it, and then just push the AIO into the CPU socket. If that drops temps, that means your thermal paste ain't sitting to well.

The amount of thermal paste that you use could contribute to the problem.  Make sure the paste isn't too thick.  When the thermal paste is too thick, it acts like an insulator instead of the real purpose of its design.  The thinner the thermal paste, the better.  Just make sure that it covers the entire surface of the CPU.

l copied the following information from a google website as it might explain what I'm trying to say a little better than I can say what I'm trying to say.

google.com  "how to know if too much thermal paste"

You can tell if you've used too much thermal paste if it's spilling over the edges of the CPU or motherboard. You can clean it off with alcohol and start over.

Using too much thermal paste can: Decrease heat dissipation efficiency, Cause inconsistent performance, Lead to slowdowns and crashes, and Reduce overall efficiency in tasks that demand high computational power.
