Budget (including currency): around 1500-1700€

Country: Italy

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mainly competitive games but also new solo player experiences

Other details: im looking to keep my current case(if possible), my cooler, my ssds and hard drives and my power supply(if possible). I already have 240hz monitors and all peripherals.

I’m indecisive about whatever to buy the ryzen 9700x or the 7800x3d ( or the 7900x3d I don’t really understand if they’re that different); the choice of graphics card is yet to be seen because I’m waiting for the new lineup announcement in January, I would buy mid-range to high end (something equating to a 4070 or 4080, depending on how much I want to spend).

The questions I have are these: what is the real difference between the cpus I listed( I plan to mainly game on this machine)?
Is my cooler good enough for the new cpus?

Will my choice of motherboard and my already owned power supply be able to support this upgrade or should I change it?

This is the list I have come up with so far:

Your cooler will work fine as long as you get a AM5 mounting kit for that cooler. I would contact be quiet. Change your RAM to the AMD EXPO version.

Ok thank you, I just need to check the box if I have one already and I’m set on that.
