Hello everyone, a bit of a strange issue. I've tried everything I've read online and can only successfully turn off the lights on my 3090TI FE in Windows. The problem is my computer is on all the time and in my bedroom, I hate having lights on in my room while asleep. I have managed to turn off the lighting on my GPU in Windows using software with no problem, the issue is most of the time my computer is running on Ubuntu Server, and there is nothing I can do to turn off the lights, I tried a few online solutions running various commands and nothing worked. My current solution is a piece of duct tape on the GEFORCE RTX lights, however light still shines through plus comes out of the top of the card. Any suggestions?

I watched a video and they said you can use icue which has a Linux equivalent called ckb-next. I don't know if that's nonsense, but maybe worth looking into.

A lot of solutions like this do work. However Linux Server has no GUI to support running that software, so unless they have a CLI option, unfortunately, it's not usable for the situation.

I think some RGB software has a plugin for nvidia FE cards, so you might be able to use something like OpenRGB with CLI?

There's a thread with some stuff here:

I tried installing OpenRGB on Linux server with the following documentation and kept getting that it couldnt find OpenRGB: https://docs.vanillaos.org/handbook/en/install-openrgb

However I do know openrgb does work for this use cause that's what i use on windows to get it turned off.

Is this wiki the same app? I dunno, but it sounds like these RGB apps have quite a few dependencies. This stuff goes over the top of my head, since I don't really use Linux.
