DWM.exe causing major screen flickering

Okay so recently i got my hands on an origin evo 16-s gaming laptop with a ryzen 7 6800h and an rx 6650m xt. I also think its worth mentioning that this laptop appears to have a mux switch as this might be part of the cause.

 

Im having a problem with this laptop where the screen is flickering and artifacting seemingly randomly when the computer is both being used and idle. I noticed in task manager that dwm.exe is spiking all over the place in gpu usage sometimes even hitting 100%. 

 

To try and fix the issue i reinstalled windows 11 23h2. While i was running the installer there were no issues which leads me to think that this is not a hardware issue (if it were you'd expect to see issues in all circumstances). I also noticed that after i had fresh installed the pc seemed okay until i connected it to the internet and windows started Automatically assigning drivers and doing updates.

 

My main question for this thread is:

 

#1: is this fixable in windows because my searching so far has led me nowhere.

 

#2: should i try windows 11 22h2?

 

#3: is this just a bug with some recent update that no one knows about yet?
