Resetting Windows

ziggyboi

I am dual booting Windowsa and Ubuntu and I want to completely wipe and reset Windows. The D: partition is a common partition to Windows and Ubuntu.

  • Which partititions should I remove?
  • Does Ubuntu also depend on the EFI partition?
  • Will the recovery partition be recreated when I reinstall windows?
  • How do I maintain BitLocker on the C: partition?

If you want to fresh install windows, only the c: partition. The installer should reuse the efi and recovery partitions

Yes, the efi partition will contain the bootloaders  for windows and linux. Installing windows will override the linux bootloader. To restore you'll need to use a ubuntu live usb to restore the grub bootloader after reinstalling windows.

I guess disable bitlocker for both partitions before reinstalling then enable bitlocker afterwards.
