Hi,

Looking to build my first NAS, will be used mainly for file storage/media server. This is what I put together on PC Part picker so far, would like to hear some input/suggestions on these before I start buying stuff.

Those are surveillance drives. They focus on capacity and 24/7 runtime over speed since they are meant for a CCTV or NVR camera system. However, NAS drives are extremely similar, so it doesn't matter. The only downside is that they are 5200RPM and most NAS drives are 7200.

I would, however, go for 2 8tb drives instead of 4 4tb drives.

This one is good. https://a.co/d/g3R9pYj

Thank you, the place I looked said they were 7200 rpm, didn't even notice that on PcPP it showed as 5400 rpm. Looking at other drives now, found a Seagate Exos X12 for €185, so might get 2 of those
