What DDR5?

Alright so I'm thinking of grabbing some Lancers in some time...

are there any better choices available in the market? Generally speaking, are Lancers still good for the amount of cash out of my wallet?

Haven't kept up with D5 since 2022 or so. The Lancers in question are the 5200'ers, blacked out. I refuse to buy RGB RAM.

how much are they? you should be able to get 6000 CL30s for $93

With DDR5 RAM the value for money is at about 6000Mhz CL30. As with DDR4 you should get atleast 2 sticks, but you also shouldn't get sticks smaller than 16GB (2x8GB kits come with huge performance penalties).

TLDR: get DDR5 6000Mhz CL30 2x16GB

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

I'm definitely not in for 6000 after seeing the tragedy which seem to be pricing in Turkey. The hike from 5200 Lancer to 6000 Trident is double the price.

Big what am I doing on the computer store moment. If I get the non-RGB Lancer 5200, it'll be 16gb sticks. It's going to be for ECC and for the sake of obtaining fine D5 so I could move on to the new platform, which I'd want to be a lot smaller than my current Lian Li mid tower rig.

I'll post back when I make my final decision.
