solid white led is just normal, its booted and is waiting for you to set it up. If you have no display then it will be difficult to do so though.
I actually looked it up and yeah hdcp is on by default so you will have a bad time connecting it to regular computer monitors in some cases until you go in and switch it off using a display that does support it.

Hey guys! Recently picked up a ps5 from a guy at my college. I paid 400 dollars for it. I trust this guy enough to know that he didn’t (at least I don’t think) scam me. Anyways, I go home and turn it on and it’s blue, then it’s white with no display and it just stays there. After 10 minutes of waiting I boot into safe mode. Bam, I get a signal. I clicked reset ps5 (the one without a usb) and it said it would factory reset to defaults and did the loading bare for all of about 10 seconds before it reached one hundred. When it restarted it is now having the same issue. I am not a big PlayStation guy so I could be missing something. Can anyone help?

do you have a tv or something you can plug it into to test. or can find one
Pretty sure its either hdcp or the display resolution, but idk.
just take it to your friends house and set it up there or something

I do have some other tvs and monitors I can test. Currently busy but I will try. Can I ask why it is white? Is that usually how it is?

no problem, surprised how small and unreported that issue is really.
