Active stylus for Android

Imago

Hello everyone!

I found a tablet on line with a very good screen and pretty nice power that looks perfect for drawing and 3D modeling. I also found an inexpensive active bluetooth pen that should work fine with it but I have the doubt it couldn't work "exclusively" on the tablet.

There is an app out there that tells the tablet to take comands only from the stylus when in use? Like "the pen is on, ignore finger touches"

This way I don't mess everything when I touch the screen with the side of my hand.

My rig:

Case: Chieftec CI-01B-OP "The Cube"

Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H Rev.1

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X

Cooler: ThermalRight Assassin King 120 SE with TF-4 Thermal paste

GPU: NVidia RTX 2070 Super Blower Style (HP OEM)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 2x16

PSU: Itek BD700 DC-to-DC

What you are looking for is called palm rejection.

For this to work, the device must be able to distinguish if its the stylus or your hand touching the screen. An active digitizer is required. This is a physical component of the screen. Phones and tablets that do not tout active stylus support, only use a passive digitizer.

In short, it is not possible to get proper palm rejection through just software.

Yes, I know this. I was asking if there were an app that tells the tablet to totally ignore any input unless the pen tip is pressed on the screen.

what tablet? because unless it has a digitizer layer for the pen to interact with, then the pen is just mimicing a finger touch and the touchscreen will not be able to tell the difference.

It's a Blackview Tab 7.

Even a bluetooth stylus would act like a normal "touch" stylus?

The tablet is a blind elephant. When someone pokes it with a finger or a pen, it can't tell the difference because its skin is not sensitive enough.

This 'app' you are talking about, is akin to an instruction telling the elephant to ignore when poked by a finger, but not when poked by a pen.
