Ok so a friend of mine is getting a gaming laptop soon and he tells me that it has 8gb of RAM, and a 750m graphics card. With games like ARMA III, DayZ, and other next-gen games, how well will that graphics card preform?

Now, you know what you can expect from these barbarians. They are a race of rabid BASTARDS that will fight us tooth and nail! But they don't know what they're up against. Cyrodiil, is CIVILIZATION! Cyrodiil, is ORDER! Cyrodiil is POWER! And out here, WE. ARE. CYRODIIL.

Pretty decently (meh), but I would strongly recommend him getting a desktop instead of that. Ask him if he really needs it for the sole mobility of a laptop.

Wanna hang out with me and people like @Theslsamg, @ Ssoele, @BENTHEREN, @Lanoi, @Whiskers, @_ASSASSIN_, @Looney, @WunderWuffle, and @nsyedhasan. Well.... Check out: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/48484-unofficial-linustechtips-teamschnitzel-server-teamspeak/

There are some benchmarks of the gpu here. As for ARMA III and DayZ specifically, both as far as I know are more cpu limited than gpu limited, so their performance would likely depend more on what type of processor the laptop has.

That is what the retina MacBook Pro 15" has, which is an ultrabook pretty much. Will perform quite well, but if its sole purpose is GAMING, then it is somewhat meh...

Tell him to get a desktop instead if he doesn't neeed portability. There are reasonable options with higher than 750m
