$2000 CAD Gaming Build

Go to solution Solved by Allyxxx,

It looks good, but I prefer a bigger chunky cooler just to fill in the case more like the Thermalright Frost Commander 140 doesn't have RGB Amazon. PA120 or PS120 has RGB with similar performance to the Deep Cool cooler you have chosen and could be several dollars less from Amazon. Not going to be able to bump to a higher GPU than 7800XT without spending a lot more, but its should be a great pairing with the new hardware.

Budget (including currency): 2000-2200 CAD

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Casual Gaming. I want to be ready for good performance on upcoming games.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hello All,

I started from a build guide on Reddit and here is where my build is now: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/BC_Build/saved/jPXXf7.

I think I'm happy with the CPU, CPU Cooler, Storage, Case and Power Supply.

I'm not sure about the brands for the Motherboard, Memory and Video Card.

I have an Asus PB287Q monitor (4K), I'm thinking of getting a new 1440p monitor later.

I'd really appreciate some advice. Thank you!

Seems great, although I don’t know if u need so much cpu power and instead maybe want to consider getting some more gpu, that said maybe u want to consider lowering ram latency to cl30, will give a little bit more performance. Everything else seems fine, u probably don’t probably need such a beefy cooler but it’s ok. For what I know that mobo is pretty good. Also if u still go with that cooler remember to check ram clearance. If u want an example of a more cpu less gpu u may want to check the Enthusiast AMD Gaming/Streaming Build Guide from PCPC.

I'm sorry if i made any spelling mistakes, i'm not an English speaker.

Have you considering just going with a 7800X3D bundle which includes a regular B650 size motherboard WiFi and 2x16GB RAMand the Corsair 4000D case bundled with a 850W PSU. Both are available from Canada Computers. 3 difference motherboard bundles, but does cost a little more/same, but atleast you avoid ASRock rebate. Last time I tried to do their rebate I mailed in too late because they based the time I ordered the item, but I can't cut a UPC from a box  I didn't have yet  and the I would have had to pay extra for fast delivery service.

The Corsair case bundle is worth saving the extra $64 unless you really want the Lian Li case.

Thanks for your feedback Guille.R and Allyxxx! I tried going up a level from the 7800 XT GPU but it gets too expensive. I will go with CL 30 ram.

I didn't know about the Canada Computers bundles, thank you! This one looks great: https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=&item_id=249021

I didn't notice that my build was using a Micro ATX Motherboard, ATX should eliminate any potential clearance issues right?

I decided I still want the Lian Li case.

My updated build is now the bundle linked above, plus this: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/BC_Build/saved/RwqYXL

How does that sound?
