Hello, my laptop i purchased earlier this year was recently broken. Luckily Insurance can't fix it which means I have a choice either take the 850$ (US Dollars) or they will replace it (Intel i7-4700MQ @ 2.4GHz turbo boost 3.2GHz,12GB ram, 768p Touch screen). I have decided to ask the internet as when has it ever steered anyone wrong, the dilemma lies in the fact that i need the laptop for school. However with the 850 I have enough to get an Asus Chromebook and have 1,200$ (us) to buy a desktop or I can use the extra money to get a laptop with a graphics card.

So continuing with the Desktop I wish to build here is the PC Price picker list.

As I'm Sure its aparent I need to factor a monitor in to this build. I do have access to a windows 8.1 key for 50$(us).
So for this build I'm looking for an alternate motherboard. I would like the z87 chipset and the Ability for a least 2 way SLI for future expansion.
(edit: it is a gaming rig)
(edit: I feel that I should explain why i want other motherboard suggestions, I would like to lower the price with out losing performance and feel i'm not knowledgeable enough about motherboards)
