Bios questions

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

That bios version supports the 5800x so you shouldnt need to update.

I might recommend it though to have the latest stability/performance fixes if you have never updated.

Updating bios can be sort of risky but that board has bios flashback which you can use if something goes wrong.

To update bios get a usb flash drive, put the bios file on it and your board should recognize the file when you go to the bios flash option inside the bios settings.

Hi, I'm going to upgrade from a AMD ryzen 5 3600 to a AMD ryzen 7 5800x. I have a ASUS TUF gaming B550 plus motherboard and the bios version is currently 1202. I wanted to ask if I should be updating it. I've never upgraded my CPU until now. Also how does one actually update it, as I am relatively new to pc building. I downloaded the most recent bios update for my mobo and used the rename tool as it said in the desc on the download, I didn't know where to go from there.
