Severe FPS Drops Mid-Game

I have a Z420 workstation and upgraded it recently. I swapped out the Quadro k4000 for an RX 580 and switched the E5-1620 out of my system for an E5-2690. After I swapped out the GPU, I've been experiencing severe FPS drops mid-game. At the beginning of a game, I get and average of 130 fps, and then out of nowhere, it spikes down to 30 fps then back to 130 fps, and keeps happening repeatedly sometimes with short intervals if I'm lucky. I really want to get to the bottom of this because this happening when I had the old GPU in my system so someone pls help.

Just discord, the amd software and overwolf overlays

Check your drivers. Make sure windows is updated. Check if the ram is experiencing high usage. same for ssd or hard drive

I did all of these, it's still happening and I dont know why.

are you able to do a clean reinstall of windows?

As in resetting my pc and removing everything on the drive?

you need to back up the drive to an external drive or to the cloud (ex. google drive, onedrive)

then you can reset it

No.

Yes, unless you're just doing a refreshing install, which is different.

do you have it saved to your google account? if yes, then i think you can sync it back after you reset
