Second GPU for Analog Output?

gamarad

Budget (including currency):

$3000-4000 CAD

Country:

Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Modern AAA games at 1440p and/or 4k

Grand strategy games like Stellaris and CK3

Super Smash Bros. Melee Netplay

Other details:

One of my goals for my first PC build is to create a good set up for Super Smash Bros. Melee netplay (Slippi). The best way to do that is to use a graphics card with analog output (which new GPUs don’t have) and a high refresh rate CRT monitor. I could get almost identical results with the new GPU I’m buying for this build and a specially selected monitor but I’d rather go with analog since I already have a GTX 680 and a high refresh rate CRT monitor that would work well for melee.

So my questions are:

What complications could trying to add my old 680 to my new build cause?

Would it even fit if I got a large GPU?

Would it disrupt airflow to my main GPU?

Could vertical mounting help?

Should I get a bigger case?

Would this lock me into AMD for my new card since you can’t have two versions of Nvidia drivers?

Is this whole idea dumb?

Any other thoughts you might have?

This is what I’m looking at right now:
