Been thinking about building a PC, but I also just don't want to deal with it... so I've been considering a prebuilt. I've had experience with PowerSpec in the past, and they've always seemed to be pretty good value. And it doesn't hurt that I have a Micro Center about 20 minutes away.

Anyway, checking out the PowerSpec G713 (https://www.microcenter.com/product/663462/powerspec-g713-gaming-pc) -- For the money it seems solid. The only thing I think is a knock is that it has 1 stick of 16GB RAM, so I'd change that for sure. But all in all I can't find anything too much to complain about. My display at home is an LG 4k display at 60hz, so I'm not going to push more than 60FPS for the near future.

Am I missing anything crazy?

that seems very decent for the price (good cpu i mean) but I would get this prebuilt and slap it into a cheap cc560 case HP ENVY TE02-0030 Gaming PC; Intel Core i7 12th Gen 12700 1.6GHz Processor; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB GDDR6X; 16GB - Micro Center

Pardon my ignorance --- I've been a Mac user for the past 25 years, so if this is wrong I apologize.

Wouldn't the HP system have a proprietary mobo? And I assume HP cruds up Windows with crapware? I know the PowerSpec uses more or less off the shelf components.

generally prebuild pc are using proprietary mobo, but not all sometimes there is a prebuild pc from big manufacture that use standard size motherboard. Even so i still wouldn't recommend going with prebuild pc with proprietary parts if you are planning on getting into customizing your pc in the future. so i would recommend going for the powerspec one. if you plan on getting the hp prebuild i would still recommend looking at review, sometimes these prebuild pc from big manufacturer their motherboard somehow doesnt perform as good as any other motherboard like how they limit the power etc, also their case are usually isnt the best in term of temp and acoustic.

Normally they do but this one seems alright. Also remember to quote people when you reply
