Pc won't power on

I'll try swapping the motherboard out for the MSI one and see if that works

Update: I found out the issue was that the 24pin connector wasnt in all the way and the molding on the PSU cable wasn't letting it go in. I got a cable mod extention cable and it clipped into the motherboard and booted up.

The other day I tried to build my own Pc but when I went to power it on nothing happened. The lights on the motherboard turn on but that's all. I was able to get it to turn on earlier and display the "Q-led" lights showing me that I have everything plugged in correctly (except my GPU which was arriving later). When I went to put the GPU in though it wouldn't power on.

I tested the PSU with a paperclip and it turns on and spins up, then I tried starting it up using a screwdriver on the start pins instead of my case and that also didn't work. I even unplugged and removed pieces at a time to try and narrow it down but every time nothing happened.

After trying all of that I replaced my motherboard and when I got the new one the same thing happens. I don't know where the issue lies in my pc, are there any ideas to what might be the issue.

Parts:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x

Motherboard: Asus prime b550-plus

GPU: Rtx 4070ti

PSU: Nzxt E850

Ram: Corsair vengeance LPX 16gb (2x8)

Coolermaster hyper 212

Corsair 4000D airflow case

I replaced it with the same brand

I wonder if you might have gotten unlucky and gotten 2 boards with very early BIOS versions. For the 5800X to work in that motherboard you need BIOS version 1004 or later. However, the 1004 is a very early BIOS update, but not unlikely that it happened.

Is there a way that I would be able to fix that or would I need to get a different board

The only way you would be able to update the BIOS would be to get a CPU that works with the older BIOS, a 3000 series CPU.  Maaybe you can take it to a repair shop and they would have one spare to just update the bios quick?  I'm not saying that this IS the problem but its very likely that it could be. Had many peopel on the forum with this issue.  I know that the MSI B550 MAX boards come ready for the 5000 series CPU's ( MAX having updated BIOS already from factory )

I'll try swapping the motherboard out for the MSI one and see if that works
