Hello,

I need an advice about upgrading the am4 system i currently have

Current setup

Ryzen 5 2600x , with aftermarket 160w~ tdp silentiumpc fortis5 cooler

b350m motherboard with two faulty ram sticks or dual channel problem , but only 2 sticks show up i can't seem to do anything about it

32gb of ram ( 3333mhz 20cl latency with custom timings ) but only 16gb working because of mentioned motherboard problem

corsair tx850 gold power supply ( white label one )

is it worth upgrading from

ryzen 5 2600x to ryzen 7 5800x3d? does it bring better single core performance than ryzen 5 2600x?

and i need new motherboard for dual-channel , which chipset i should pick? x370 or b550 i used to keep my ryzen 5 2600x overclocked it never been over 66-67c under normal usage. Video gaming/liverstreaming/3d game modeling / video editing.

sorry for bad english im high and not native

If your 2600X is no longer cutting it then could upgrade to a new AM4 system, but it sounds like you'd need a new motherboard anyway. And if your replacing the motherboard and CPU, you might as well look at other platforms as well as AM4.

What is your budget? where are you shopping (Region/Country)?

Can you provide a full spec list of your current build (Case,PSU,GPU ect so we know what we are building round)?

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

ryzen 5 2600x

vega 56

tx 850m gold psu

msi dragon , atx case 4x 120mm fans

32gb ram

im from northeastern europe , i plan to spend about 150€ for motherboard , so mid range b550 for 120-130€ or x370 140-160€ i don't know which one is better and why.

and 300€~ for ryzen 7 5800x3d

or it would make more sense going am5?

IMO getting a good deal on AM5 costs about 750€ (that's a 7700 (or 7700X) plus B650 MB, 2*16GB 6000 CL36 RAM and a cooler).

You can step down to a 7600 but then IMO AM4 is a competitive option cause of the 5800X3D (you do miss out on upgradability, but it's cheaper in the first place).

You could also save some money on the DDR5 ram, but not much.

what country exactly are you in (helps us get prices and parts availablity in your area)?
