Some of the games consist of Warzone 2.0, Fortnite, Dying Light, Paladins and hopefully more triple a title games in the future. And also yes all of my cores have been utilized/maxed out.

Then the problem is your CPU, not your GPU. The clocks on the GPU are dropping because the CPU can't keep it fed with draw calls.

You could consider getting an i7 2600 or i7 3770 to replace your i5, and it would perform a lot better, but I'm not sure either would completely fix the issue.

It is probably time for a platform upgrade if you can afford it.

Hello! I really need help with my RX 580 4GB variant. The issue I need help with is that when I play any type of game, from extremely GPU intensive to not as much; my RX 580 core clock and memory clock keeps dropping down and then coming back up. For example, Core Clock (2050mhz to 450-670mhz); Memory Clock (1426mhz to 1000mhz). Also the temperatures are anywhere from (50-70 C) under intense loads. Giving me the greatest frame dips of all-time; so if any can help me it much would be appreciated!

MY SPECS FOR REFERENCE

- Intel i5-3470

-16GB DDR3 1600mhz memory

-430W PSU

-XFX RX 580 4GB

Welcome to the Forums!

My initial thoughts would be either CPU bottleneck or overheating GPU.

Could you give us a list of some of the games you've tried playing? Also, do you know what temperature your GPU is running at?

I updated it 🙂

Okay, so temperatures shouldn't be an issue. Then I'm wondering if you're CPU bottlenecked. Newer games (those released since 2018) can often struggle on 4 core processors without HyperThreading, like the older i5 models.

What are some of the games that you're playing? Have you monitored CPU resources to make sure that you don't have multiple cores getting maxed out?
