Hello guys im planning on building a new pc for my brother he want to spend 800 dollars at most

i was thinking on something like this :

$800 Build

What do you guys thinks? should i change something? i dont mind about brands, what could it be a good ryzen build equivalent?

No peripherals

Thanks !!

Don't get a 3050, it's as overpriced as it's crappy 😮

A 6650Xt is like 60% faster !!

Rest is fine

I'd suggest getting a less expensive case to give you more wiggle room on your budget in order to get a better VC.

RAM isn't necessarily the same, if you want to use the overclocking optimization of Intel's XMP or AMD's DOCP. Also, there are some differences in what each brand works best with from what I've seen here, but I'm not familiar with them.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

I don't really think I deserved the "solution" checkmark. I just contributed a little. Maybe you should give it to @PDifolco.

Check it:

  • 6700xt
  • 16GB of RAM but you can get 32GB and you'd be at $810. Silicon Power GAMING 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (SP032GXLZU320BDAJ7) - PCPartPicker
  • 1TB Gen 4 SSD.
  • Pretty well designed case for dirt cheap with decent airflow (look at the ventilation below the shroud, the side inlets are pretty big too)
  • The smart BM2 is a lot better than the smart PSUs that came before.  A 650 should be good for a 6700xt and a 5600
  • Aftermarket cooler (I'd put the included TT case fan on the cooler and put the fan from the cooler on the exhaust to match the intake fans)
  • Those are actually decent intake fans for the money.  All fluid dynamic bearings.

Motherboard: ASRock B550M Phantom Gaming 4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($89.99 @ Newegg)

Storage: Kingston NV2 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive  ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: ASRock Challenger D OC Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB Video Card  ($349.99 @ Newegg)
