No it only had the one drive, is there a free program that can do a deep search?

If you just want a basic, search for everything in the system search. Everything can search everywhere on your computer for everything that contains the search term in its filename. You can download it here: https://www.voidtools.com/

I have recently moved my old SSD from my laptop into my computer, and I cant find the downloads folder. I go to user/username/ and where the download folder should be, it isnt there. Any idea how to find it? Theres some files id like to get from that folder before formatting it so its just extra space for games.

Thanks in advanced for any help,

Did you have multiple drives on your laptop? OEMs sometimes configure things like the Downloads folder to go onto a higher capacity drive (so if you had a large capacity HDD also in the system, the Downloads folder might actually be on there)

Otherwise, you'll just need to search the whole drive for the files (if you remember the name of one of the files, try searching with Windows search for that). The folder could be anywhere. It's probably either in the root directory (C:\) or in another User folder, like the Shared one, but technically it could be in any directory on the system.

I've had this problem before.

Before moving the drive, did you make sure to do a reboot of the computer to turn it off, or disable Fast Boot and then do a shutdown?

If Fast Boot is enabled, and you do a standard shutdown, Windows locks the drive and doesn't allow any changes to its files to protect Fast Boot. You'll need to boot from that drive, disable Fast Boot, and then shutdown, or do a reboot (which bypasses Fast Boot) and shut the system down when it gets to the BIOS splash but before Windows starts booting.

I just did a quick google search and figured out how to get ownership. Finally got the files i wanted. Thanks again for the help! problems solved lol.
