Budget (including currency): $1000

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Newer games

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Here's an overview of my current build:

CPU: i7-4790k

GPU: RTX 2080

RAM: 32 GB DDR3

MB: ASUS Sabertooth Z97 mark 1

The core of this systems is almost 9 years old now, so I think its time for an upgrade.  I will be reusing a lot of the newer parts of the system I have upgraded over the years, which include: GPU, PSU, Storage, and Case.

So really I just need some good recommendations on a new CPU, Ram, and Motherboard.

This could last you the next 9 years 🙂

Bearing in mind the latter should last longer as it will get faster CPU support whereas the former is a dead-end platform.

ASUS B650E-F GAMING WIFI + R7 7800X3D + 2x Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30-36-36-76  + ASUS RTX 4090 TUF Gaming OC

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) Backup: GL.iNet GL-X3000/ Spitz AX Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz) WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz)
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~1200Mbit down, 115Mbit up, variable)
