Hello! I have been running this build for quite some time with no issues what so ever

CPU: Intel i7 3820 @4.6 GHz

GPU: Point of view; GeForce GTX 680

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

MOBO: ASUS P9X79

RAM: 16 GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 Ram

HDD: 1x 500GB WD Blue 1x 640GB WD Green

SSD: Samsung 840 Series 120gb

PSU: Corsair AX860I

CASE: Corsair 750D

But today when just browsing the Web and watching twitch it bluescreened and upon boot it said "CPU temperature to hot. Press F1 to run setup" so I did and just while in bios it was running at 50-70 degrees C. I have tried reapplying the CPU cooler with new thermal paste and put my clock speeds back to normal however still no luck, all fans are running as well. I was thinking this might be the H100i dying? I'm no expert though so any input/help would be greatly appreciated.

this is a dumb question but are you sure the pump is running? it's buzzing and chugging along as it is supposed to?.

for the most part theres only 3 things that can go wrong, it's the mounting, the fans and the pump, if you are certain the fans are spinning and the mounting is correct something is probably going on with the pump, and btw you said you set the cpu back to normal clockspeed but you didn't say anything about the voltage, have you had a look so see what it's running at, clockspeed wont really make a difference as long as it's stable, but the voltage does.

Try opening Corsair Link and looking at the pump RPM reading. If you have a spare cooler lying around, or are able to borrow/purchase one for fairly cheap you could also try that to see if it is the H100i.

The H100i pump reading was 2000 something, the pc shut down before I could write down the whole number and it is not letting me boot now. I don't have another cooler laying around sadly.

I'm not certain on how the pump should sound, I can't really hear anything but the fans. If it helps the CorsairLink pump reading is saying 2307. And my voltage is back to default as well.

I managed to take a picture this time before it shut down %7Boption%7Dhttp://i.imgur.com/1cQxSCF.jpg[\img]

That coolant temperature is overly high, mine sits at 30c even when under load.

Was the radiator particularly warm? I assume not if the air coming over it was cool.

My line of thinking is this, if both your CPU and coolant are hot but the radiator isn't and the fans are running fine, then something is stopping the heat from reaching the radiator meaning a blockage or something similar. I can't say for sure but that's what follows logically.

That sounds about right, I'm gonna try and get my hands on another cooler on Monday after my exams and send this one back as it's still under warranty. I appreciate the help :)

to me it sounds like a dead pump.. the pump should be humming/buzzing, or you should feel some kinda vibration, the pumps aren't exactly silent, at the very least there should be some form of reaction, it shouldn't be sitting there completely still and dead silent.

i wouldn't trust the corsair software for a second.
