Router Might be Dying

Hi guys,

 

I think my router might be dying but I'm not sure. What are the symptoms of a dying router?

 

I have a Linksys WRT54GS that I've had for about 6 years. Today I can't seem to connect to the internet with it. I've tried it with 2 mobile devices(wireless), a laptop(wireless), and 2 desktops (using Cat5's). When I directly plug into the modem it works perfectly fine, but nothing going through the router works at all. I've already restarted and reset the router a couple times.

 

If it is dying, can anyone recommend a good router at a decent price with b/g/n?

I would personally just go all out and buy one of those new asus routers, they're amazing, and future proof (Until new standards come around) with wireless ac.

I would agree. The Asus routers are beautiful! Asus also makes top quality products. Also Linksys is a good brand (sad they got bought out by belkin).

 

Let me know what price point you are looking at. I would get an AC if you can afford it. You wouldn't need a new router for a bunch of years. :)

I was thinking of somewhere between $80 to $120 but I really don't want to replace it unless I have to.
