HDR Desktop Distorted

I have a BenQ EX3203R HDR monitor. I've been experiencing this issue since I bought the monitor 3 years ago. The display automatically swaps to HDR when playing some supported games and works as it should. I've run across a couple games where I am unable to enable it. When I enable HDR on the Windows desktop the option will enable in game, but the color becomes distorted. This hasn't changed with a different DisplayPort cable, different GPU drivers, or different Windows updates. It's just a minor annoyance but would be interested in if it could be fixed.

 

AMD Ryzen 3800X

ROG Crosshair Formula VIII (X570)
