GPU doesn't display when plugged in horizontally.

Graphics card no display when installed the traditional method. Board gives a VGA Debug LED. Tried changing cases, reseating the card, ram, cleared cmos and even checked all my cables.
The card displays when I put the whole system horizontally. Reinstalled drivers but the problem is still there. Is it the board's pcie slot? or the graphics card itself?

PCIe power connection janky and losing connection with gravity? Just a thought.

Can you post a pic of your output port arrangement?

Actually, I was thinking something more along the lines of this...

The reason I ask is that I was having a random issue with no video on boot, and it appears I mistook the primary HDMI for a DP due to a moronic layout design... I switched ports and the problem seems to have stopped. Also, my display was identifying my second port as a DVI-I, when it was HDMI. That, too, has stopped by connecting to what is likely the primary port. So it's possible my GPU was getting confused about where to output. Wondering if that might part of your issue here.

Do you feel any play between the cable and the port? Or perhaps the port on the board? That sounds suspiciously like gravity and lateral stress are a factor here. Also, while I doubt it, it couldn't hurt to try a different known good cable. Is this DP or HDMI?

I'm using a DP. The one I'm using now is a cheap replacement cable until I got the one I ordered. How about the VGA Debug LED? Still a gravity factor? BTW, my brothers moves alot and usually shakes the floor when he walks, sometimes it's him who causes those gray screen.

If the card has some sort of manufacturing defect or damage that makes it fit somewhat loosely in the slot, yes, lateral stress of being mounted sideways can do that. Before I discovered the port thing with mine, I actually ran a support wire from my GPU's backplate to one of the grille crossbars on the topside of my case.

I could try using a support for the card and let's see how it goes.

It couldn't hurt. Also, be sure your PCIe cable run isn't putting the card in a bind. I realized I had a potential issue there when I was running the support wire. Just be very careful with this. What I did was put a non-conductive, non-abrasive object under the card just tall enough to keep it from leaning down, maybe even slightly leaning it up. Removed it after getting the slop out of the support cable, of course. Getting the length of the support wire run right is critical, as well as making sure it stays attached and does not short out or interfere with circuitry or fans.
