Hey there,

I run a small Minecraft Java server and it has it's own nice little rules, it does allow sexual images or sexual items made, it does allow any word and there are no restrictions on user behavior except for users to try and be nice to each other, the server also is not intended for kids at all and it is not advertised as a server for kids, like Hive MC example. The server is completely ran locally and is not being run on any third party platform, such as a hosting provider or Microsoft's own solution, Realms. The server uses Geyser to allow Bedrock players to also join and interact.

I managed to find articles about how players were getting their Microsoft account banned for something they said or did in game whilst playing Minecraft as it was not according to Microsoft's TOS or behavior stuff, though this was only on Bedrock at the time, Microsoft has since forced us all to migrate our Mojang accounts to a Microsoft account.

Therefore I am wondering right now, would Microsoft ban Java players now for something that is done on a private (not owned or operated by Microsoft) server where actions done by users may not be in favor of Microsoft's TOS?

And by ban, I mean banning their Microsoft account, which means banning your other versions of Minecraft if you had them as well etc, such as your Bedrock account etc.

I am extremely concerned about this as I do not want myself or my players to have their Microsoft account banned.

Thanks,
Eli

I'd imagine it depends if the server can be found from within the game or is it purely private, needing you already know its IP/hostname?

Domain of the server is public and is also streamed, but of course there are no inappropriate stuff at the moment, or at least not that I'm aware of.

The domain is not shared in minecraft server listing websites.

TLDR: It has to be found and manually entered, both for PC and Bedrock players.
