Downloading new content using jailbreak method?

I'm sort of new to the world of Iphone jailbreaking, so I've got some questions. 

 

Would jailbreaking, let's say, a 12.5.5 iOS version Iphone allow me to have access to apps that are apart of iOS 14?

 

Does jailbreaking screw with messaging or contact info?

 

And finally... Would I need to factory reset my phone if I wanted to Jailbreak
