Computer turning on and off

I just moved my computer into a new case. i powered it on and everything lights up and fans spin. but after about a second it shuts back off. this continues over and over again until i flip the switch on the psu. 

any ideas on what’s going on?

32gb RAM

Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 7 motherboard

First thing to try i think would be to take it out of the case and see if it works without it. Could be that the back of the motherboard is touching the case or something like that.
