Technical documentation for chipset/PCH?

Hi,

I'm looking for some technical documents for chipsets or PCH, more towards on mobile side than desktop. Intel did has a few technical document available for access, but some are not (especially PCH for 11th gen mobile H series CPU, only a summary is available). I'm also looking for technical documents of AMD chipsets as well, from the current to way way back past to Athlon K5 or before.

The reason I'm looking for (or more accurately, the information I'm looking for) is the capability of the chipsets. This actually bring me back when I'm curious on why there are so many variants of features the motherboard contains, such as number of PCIe lanes and SATA ports, with the same chipset. After a lot of digging and trying to analysed my Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro WiFi, I was surprised that the motherboard seems to have 4 PCIe lanes and 2 SATA ports disabled (or make it so they are inaccessible). Now I felt like I'm not getting everything the X570 offers.

As for Intel PCH, I learned that some of their HSIO can be programmed to different function, either a PCIe lane, USB3.2, a SATA lane, or the internal GbE for use with their CNVi products. As for AMD chipset, the X570 has 4 dedicated SATA port and 8 dedicated PCIe lanes and 8 PCIe lanes that can be reprogram to SATA ports. Only very high end motherboard utilised all of the lanes where as the 'entry level' X570 chipset doesn't utilised all of it.

I wonder if there's a way I can get this information to better understand how each chipset are capable of performing.

Regards,

Chiyawa

PS: I think Intel need me to register to their partnership program to view more of their technical papers, but I'm just an individual. My company doesn't seems to be in partnership with them or AMD. And also, I'm not very interested in other stuff, just how the PCH or chipset can be configured, something that is common to the public, just a little deeper.

I apologies if my comments or post offends you in any way, or if my rage got a little too far. I'll try my best to make my post as non-offensive as much as possible.
