Anyways, using an AMD CPU:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3qoqw

You could optimize it for silence if you choose the right case fans. You could also ditch the bitfenix ghost if you don't care too much about noise, but there's other nice features on this case as well.

Things to consider:

-If you're just using 1 1080p monitor, then get a 770 instead of 780 and then use the saved money on an SSD for OS and games.

-Get WD blue instead of black series drives. The difference is warrenty (5 years for black, 3 years for blue, or is it 2?)

-I left some money out for various case add ons (fans and such)

-Do yourself a favor, ditch AMD and get a 4670k and Z87 mobo instead.

Here's an intel build:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3qoBl

Basically the same with the exception of the CPU and motherboard.

IMO, this will be better for gaming. Most games won't take advantage of all 8 cores on an FX 8320 or 8350, and the cores on the intel CPU are much better. Clock speeds don't matter because you can overclock the 4670k anyways.

http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-4670K-vs-AMD-FX-8350

Basically, using all the cores on each CPU, the performance is the same. So if you run across a game that doesn't have multicore support, or only uses a few cores, the 4670k will perform much better.

It will also be better for general computing tasks.

TL;DR: Get this build over the other one I linked.

Why would you want an AMD CPU on a $1500 budget?

The 8350 and 4670k are even dude, nothing wrong with AMD, one is better at single threaded the other multi threaded.

PC: Corsair C70 Arctic, FX 9370, Corsair H80i, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, Corsair Vengence 16gb, Palit JetStream GTX 970, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and Western Digital Blue 1Tb + 500gb, Antec Gamer 520w

Peripherals: Logitech G19 and SteelSeries Sensei RAW

Toshiba L50-A: i7 4700mq, 8gb, 1TB HDD, GT 740M 2gb

CPU:  AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor  ($179.00 @ Amazon)

CPU Cooler:  Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK 78.1 CFM CPU Cooler  ($74.99 @ Newegg)

Motherboard:  Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard  ($128.92 @ Newegg)

Memory:  Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory  ($88.99 @ Amazon)

Storage:  Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  ($139.99 @ Amazon)

Storage:  Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($54.98 @ OutletPC)

Video Card:  EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB Video Card  ($489.99 @ Newegg)

Justification:

Cooling: I recommend Air coolers ofr FX motherboards, becaue the NB needs airflow and an AIO won't give that. The Phanteks cooler is similar to the NH D14

CPU: You wanted an AMD CPU. Here is the 8350.

GPU: The GTX 780 is a great card, and will power your rig very well, but you may experience some bottlenecking in single threaded games.

PSU: this Rosewill unit is not a time bomb. See this review: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/rosewill_hive_750_watt_psu_review,7.html

Case: the Arc Midi R3 will compliment the white and black color scheme of the cooler and will provide adequate airflow.

RAM and Storage: 8 gigs fo Corsair LP ram will look good and the 1TB hard drive and 250GB Samsung SSD will provide high capacity and high performance storage.

HOWEVER, I advise an Intel build at this price point for gaming. You will get better performance.

Here's a similar Intel build with the 4670K and a Different MB:

CPU:  Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($222.00 @ Amazon)

CPU Cooler:  Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK 78.1 CFM CPU Cooler  ($74.99 @ Newegg)

Motherboard:  MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($147.99 @ Newegg)

Memory:  Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory  ($88.99 @ Amazon)

Storage:  Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  ($139.99 @ Amazon)

Storage:  Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($54.98 @ OutletPC)

Video Card:  EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB Video Card  ($489.99 @ Newegg)

Operating System:  Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)  ($89.98 @ OutletPC)

Total: $1468.89
