Audioengine D1 & Windows 11

spotnyk

Greetings,

Context: Been using an Audioengine D1 (ext DAC) for about four years with zero issue. I pair it with Voicemeeter Banana so I can use VBAN to easily share audio from my second desktop (note: I'm fairly certain this is _not_ a voicemeeter issue).

I recently did a fresh install of Windows 11. I've had no problems at all, except...

About every five minutes my audio dies. When I go to Voicemeeter to restart the audio engine (which generally will reestablish the device connection), I get one of these (attached images):

If I then restart the audio engine again, it comes back fine.

I've verified all the bitrate and sampling rate are correct. I've, of course, rebooted, checked for updated drivers, etc. I've also verified that exclusive control is not enabled on the device. All audio "Enhancements" are off.

Has anyone else had an issue like this, or seen this error before? And advice would be very much apreciated.

Thanks

Are you using USB or optical input into the D1? I've had some weird behaviour in the past on my old D1 in W10 using USB but it always worked fine via optical. I suspect this is a W11 driver issue.

Always used it as USB. My current card (mb) doesn't have optical-in available. Because I've always used the external DAC, I never pay much attention to on board audio these days.

The driver thing is likely. Unfortunate, but likely. This issue is driving my batty, as I'm sure you can imagine. 🙂
