Windows 8 stuck on startup

After my friend closed my computer by pressing the button for 5 seconds, my computer is stuck on the spinning circles, I tried automatic repair, and I don't have a windows recovery CD (I downloaded it with upgrade manager) the only back up I have is a clone copy on my other hard drive. Anyway to repaired that without formatting and re-downloading it completely? Thanks in advance!
