Windows 10- Display Freezing

Hi guys!

 

I built a system a few days ago (full specs posted below), and I've been having issues with the picture freezing periodically. Typically, this happens when the system is idle and on the screensaver (at the moment, my display is not set to go to sleep). However, this has happened during active use- when this happened, applications froze one-by-one until everything but the cursor was frozen- but it has not happened since I installed new display drivers, and I only remember it happening once. I also had a one-time issue where I left the PC on the login screen for a while post-boot, and then the login took upwards of 20 minutes before I decided to kill it.

 

I installed NVidia Game Ready drivers in place of the ones Windows installs by default (which was in the plans anyway). I also uninstalled ASUS Armoury Crate. At first, I suspected an issue with either the memory or the GPU, but the memory passed the Windows memory check and the system also makes it through Cinebench R23 and 3DMark Time Spy with no issues. The GPU was also in service for about 3 years in another machine, and I had no issues with it during that time. Temps are also fine on all components. This behavior also only occurs within Windows, so this makes me fairly certain that this is an issue within Windows.

 

My next step will probably be nuking my Windows install and starting fresh, but wondering if anyone here has any ideas before I do that!
