Putting stabilizer inserts sideways?

Is it possible to put a stabilizer insert sideways? I just got this HP GK200 and I want to change the keycaps since it's really annoying but I'm kinda concerned with the stabilizer situation

It doesn't have that little bent thatt usually most costar stabilizer has and i wonder if just put the stabilizer inserts sideways will fix the issue, if not can anyone recommend a cheap alternative on how to solve this?
