Budget (including currency): 2,000 to 3,000 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Just trying to play some warzone and battlefield and work occasionally on some basic CAD programs for work.

Other details - Because graphic cards are hard to get I was only able to secure a ZOTAC gaming Geforce RTX 3060 twin edge 12gb GDDR6. I have never owned a gaming PC my wife is a marketing director so I inherit her extra apple computers. I have been watching videos and spending time on PC picker, but I always get the BIOS needs to be updated when I try to match the AMD Ryzen 7 5800x with any motherboard. I am not afraid of this problem but I dont have any other CPUs to update the BIOS. I am looking for a seamless integration between parts. The plan is to use the 3060 until I get my hands on a 3080ti or upgrade the GPU in a couple years. I am opened to anything here just looking for someone to give me suggestions with confidence LOL

Many mid range and up motherboards have a bios update feature that does not require a working cpu. Various names for the feature. Asus calls it USB BIOS Flashback, MSI Flash BIOS Button, Gigabyte Q-Flash Plus, and ASRock BIOS Flashback Button.

To use the feature one typically downloads a zipped BIOS file, extracts the image file onto a usb drive, renames the file, plugs the usb stick into a specific port on the back panel, and presses the flashback button.

Motherboard manufacturers generally ship motherboards with the most recent BIOS version. Unless your merchant has old stock you shouldn't need to update the BIOS.

Consider a motherboard like the MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk or MSI MPG B550 Gaming Edge.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
