Gpu died ? i need help

Hi,

 

I'm new here ...

i have an old pc, and i tried to put a gtx 1060 3gb in the pci and motherboard slot, and just put it, a red led lights up,

i don't even need to put the cable for the light to turn on, and if i put the cable, it also turns red, in the gpu, I don’t know what’s going on, can someone tell me.

 

 

i have a old pc with

Mobo : asus prime z270-A

Intel core i5-7400

it will light up red when you have the system powered on and you don't have PCIE power connected to it. Red is bad.. if it has PCIE power plugged into it, which you have a 6 pin plug on that card, it will be white when plugged in.

No. What you need to do is shut down the PC. put the card into the PCIE slot. Then connect a 6 pin power cable from your PSU into the 6 pin plug on the end just under the red light. Once that is done, power the system back on and it should be white.

No... still red with the cable, fans of the gpu still on
