Posted February 6, 2021 So I was taking a look at the new Z590 motherboard from ASRock and there is something that bug me . The Realtek Audio codec is specified in the specs (ALC1220, ALC897...) but how I'm supposed to compared the feature and quality of these? Audio is really important to me and don't want to use a sound card.... I just want to know and understand the difference. Posted February 6, 2021 It honestly doesn't matter what codec is used. All that matters is if all the audio stuff was implemented on the motherboard correctly. If things are implemented correctly than you won't notice a difference between ALC1220 and ALC897. Audio codex should be the least of your worries when buying a motherboard PC Audio Setup = Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80 ohm and Sennheiser pc37x (also for xbox) hooked up to Schiit Fulla 3 Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/1303021-compare-realtek-audio-codecs/#findComment-14462198 Share on other sites
