GTX 970 not working

Product: HP Compaq 8200 Elite Convertible Minitower Pc

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-Bit)

I bought this pc used with the gpu and it doesn't work did some google about the card and I found out I have to update the PSU, so I did that. and it still doesn't show a signal or or even show up in my device manger. The fans spin on start up but stop after> I cant even install drivers because it hasn't detected the GPU. I'm running out of ideas I've tried almost about everything.

I tried updating bios but there is no bios update.. not sure what to do. Any tips?

CPU: I5 2500 

RAM: g skill 8 GB ddr3 1333mhz 

Motherboard: HP Compaq 8200 elite minitower motherboard... couldn't find the name 

GPU:GTX 970 EVGA

It says "Haswell Ready".

I'd return it and get a more modern unit.

Haswell was launched in 2013.

A normal power supply life is 7-10 years.

And since your 500w unit is an 80+ White unit, it won't have the best components and will likely have a slightly shorter life (7-8 instead of 8-10).

ohhhhh, the power supply isn't what I was worried about thought. I just wanna know if my gpu is dead or doesn't support my pc maybe
