Time to upgrade?

Hi I currently run a MSI AERO GTX 1070 Aero (Non-ITX) in the Razer Core X eGPU box (macBook Pro in Bootcamp). Ive seen the new RTX 3000 series and I found out they are planning on releasing the rtx 3050ti. My current graphics card sells for $170-$300 on eBay which would be enough to buy the 3050ti. I've looked at the specs and the RTX 3050ti is supposedly going to be as good the as the RTX 2070 super/ RTX 2080. Here are my questions:

 

1) Is it worth it to sell my GTX 1070 before the RTX 3050 is released?

 

2) Will it work with the thunderbolt 3 eGPU case that I have

170-300 is a very wide range, is your card closer to 170 or  to 300?

My card was given to me by a friend who's been using it for a while. I would say its somewhere in the middle because its still in great condition.
