Does anybody know the differences between the OC and non OC strix card other than the fact that it's pre overlocked? It's a huge price difference and i was wondering it the price increase is only for the factory over clocking since I can just over clock it at home.

The price difference is because the OC cards are guaranteed to reach OC speeds, while the non-OC cards are not. Both models are probably the exact same design, coming off the exact same production line, but the ones that reach higher speeds are binned to be sold for a higher price (imperfections in the silicon manufacturing process are whack).

In my opinion, it's not worth paying ~$100 or more for a tiny performance improvement.

You're better off getting the non OC model, or even the TUF one, as you are okay with overclocking it.

The OC version is for those who want better OCed cards out of the box

no, just make sure you care about the thermals a bit, as you don't want it overheating too much

If you actually manage to reach the OC speed, then there won't be any difference.

However, you're not guaranteed any overclock with the non-OC variant.

Yes. The standard card is binned at 1725 MHz in "OC Mode" and 1695 MHz in "Gaming Mode", while the overclocked variant is binned at 1890 MHz in "OC Mode" and 1860 MHz in "Gaming Mode".
