I recently took apart a HP-G71 Laptop and parted it out. I decided to make a DIY display and purchased a controller off of Amazon. Turns out that the panel on the laptop is dead but the controller works fine. (I tested the controller with a display from a Samsung NP365E5C laptop.) However, while the HP display is supported by the controller, the B156XTN02.1 Display on the Samsung is not. As a result the panel has 4 copies of what is being displayed with some being cut off. Long story short I'm looking for a supported panel and want to know if there is a way to look up old laptops by the type of panel they have. I can buy the old panels but they are too expensive to warrant buying. I'm looking for used or broken laptops I can take the screen out of.
