Broken AIO or something else?

Hello everyone, 

My friend is having trouble with his NZXT Kraken AIO. There's this cracking/popping sound coming from the AIO.  I don't know the exact model of the cooler, but it's one of these X52 (V2), X62 (V2) 100%
