I have enough that I don't have to.

To remove partitions you can open the "Create and Format Hard Disks" utility in Windows (assuming you're using Windows). Just open Start and search for it, it should show up. It'll bring up all your connected hard drives and the partitions in them, and let you remove, add, or format them. If you delete or format one you'll lose any data that was on that partition, so you need to back it up somewhere else.

I don't know if you can make 2 partitions then delete 1 and have it combine to another partition. I think you'd have to delete all of them and then create one big partition, but I might be wrong.

Well, I partitioned my Macbook Pro's hard drive so I didn't have to use OSX anymore. I switched to Xubuntu and I absolutely love it.

However; once I get my new PC I probably will not partition my hard drives simply because there isn't a real need to at that point. If anything, I'd install VMware to launch my Linux Distro's. No need to completely partition the drive again.

I always partition new discs for clients, leaving all their documents and files in the 2nd partition and windows + programs in the first, so when something goes wrong I just need to format the first partition, reinstall windows and they never lose anything important.

Mystery is the source of all true science.

2 1TB drives have only 1 partition, because they are my storage and backup drives, and another 1TB is partitioned to 2 parts, for general programs and downloads.
