I've been trying to get stereo audio working in my Bose 35 QC II for a while. I've bought a male to female cable capable of carrying a mic signal (ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=android%20mref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=android%20mhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/LANMU-Replacement-Compatible-Microphone-SoundTrue/dp/B07PZ5SMP8/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=android+mic+cable&qid=1593864341&sr=8-3), which goes straight from my headphones so I can have a microphone. They then go into an extension (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07QLWQCWM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), I've had to buy this because my PC is too far away to plug straight into. This then goes into a splitter for speaker and mic, which a friend gave me. Stereo worked fine for them with it so it should with me. This then goes into the motherboard Audio ports.

So it goes - Bose headphones > Android mic cable > 3.5mm cable extension > Speaker/Mic Y Splitter > Motherboard.

I have a Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X-CF motherboard, which looks like this - https://imgur.com/a/tFtjpmw

Right now the Mic goes into the Mic input (bottom right). And the speakers go into the Out (Right middle). Using this website - https://www.audiocheck.net/audiotests_stereo.php - I've tried to see if I can hear the different channels, but I can't. Left and right still come through both ears...

I'm also getting an error when trying to enable the Windows Sonic for Headphones in the settings too.

I'm stumped.

my guess is that something in there only does mono

On the motherboard? I’ve seen £10 PCIE cards that say they do stereo. Would that work?
