My laptop used to have maybe ~800ms lag for stream streaming, which I could someone deal with, however, I'm getting a latency of up to 20,000 ms. I'm fairly new to networking, so I literally have no idea if the lag is my fault. My house mainly runs off power line coming from a central router which goes into 10/100 switches in rooms that have LAN connectivity.. My gaming pc and laptop are connected from the same room and I get the lag I mentioned before. It was fine before, I don't know if a steam update changed how data travels on the internal network lines. On another thread I was talking about my raspberry pi I use for streaming using limelight. The pi has around ~500ms latency running at 720p. So basically my pi which I was complaining about, running from a different room lags less than my ok'ish' laptop. Any Ideas?

Streaming Pc: FX-6300, GTX 670, 8GB Ram, Win 7, Internal Gigabit Switch

Raspberry Pi : Model B, RaspbianOS, no gui

Laptop: Core 2 Duo, 1.5Gb some integrated graphics, 100mb switch, Ubuntu
